Saturday started at the Tech Career Expo at the Austin Music Hall. Even though I currently own my own business, I never close the door to new opportunities. 32 Startups, 12 public companies, 46 Austin based companies showcasing their available positions and company’s culture. This definitely grabbed my attention and other attendees.
Established companies such as Dell, Gator.com, Google, Netspend, Salesforce, Etsy and Rackspace were among those premiering their available positions. Startups like Spotify, Tabbedout, Trails, Uship, and Socialware were in attendance hiring for new positions and promoting their companies. It was a great time to come explore new possibilities and get picked up by a great company.
After a few hours at AMH, we walked on over to the FoodSpotting Street Food Fest. Many delicious dishes served by the finest food trailers in the Austin area.
• Clem’s Hot Diggity Dogs
• Good Pops
• Hey Cupcake
• Lucky J’s
• One Taco
• Peached Tortilla
• Yume Burger
• Honest Tea (awesome tea!)
Best part of the event was Back to the Future DeLorean.
I also found a Golden Ticket which entitled me to a FREE T-shirt and Bamboo cutting board.
Yay Foodspotting…I will spot some food for you in San Antonio!
The day ended with a few more parties and tired feet. Nothing more interesting took place. Perhaps my last day at SXSWi had more in store…onward to the Homewood Suites for a good night sleep.
